India\u2019s Suzlon Group has commissioned a 100-megawatt wind power project for CLP India in the state of Rajasthan.<\/p>\n
The project will provide electricity to over 50,000 homes. Suzlon will also offer operations and maintenance for a 20-year period.<\/p>\n
The project, located at Tejuva in Jaisalmer, comprises 48 sets of 2.1-megawatt turbines manufactured and supplied by Suzlon.<\/p>\n
\u201cWind energy is an integral part of CLP India\u2019s business strategy and is expected to continue making a vital contribution not only to CLP’s growth plans for India but also to its commitment to reducing its CO2 emissions,\u201d said Mahesh Makhija, Director of Business Development (Renewables) for CLP India.<\/p>\n
CLP India is the wholly owned subsidiary of Hong-based CLP Holdings Ltd. It is one of the largest foreign investors in the Indian power sector including renewable energy, supercritical coal and gas fired power plants, amounting to over 3,000MW.<\/p>\n
