It is expected that the Hywind Scotland development could power up to 19,900 houses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHywind is a hugely exciting project \u2013 in terms of electricity generation and technology innovation \u2013 and it\u2019s a real testament to our energy sector expertise and skilled workforce that Statoil chose Scotland for the world\u2019s largest floating wind farm,\u201d said Deputy First Minister John Swinney.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe momentum is building around the potential for floating offshore wind technology to unlock deeper water sites.
