The facility consists of 33 sets pf Gamesa wind turbines, each with a 2-MW unit capacity and 78 metres hub height. The project cost US$130 million.<\/p>\n<p>Pier II is the first wind farm designed by Iberdrola using a supercomputing system which allows for wind turbines to be placed in the spots with the highest energy-producing potential. The company plans to roll out this system to future wind farm facilities on complex terrain.<\/p>\n<p>Pier II is Iberdrola\u2019s fifth wind farm in Mexico, where it has already commissioned La Ventosa (102MW), La Venta III (102MW), Bii Nee Stipa (26MW) and Dos Arbolitos (70MW).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Iberdrola has started operating its 66-megawatt Pier II wind
