Hanwha Q Cells has signed an agreement to supply NextEra Energy Resources with 1.5 gigawatts of solar modules.<\/p>\n
Delivery of the modules will begin in the fourth-quarter of this year and is expected to continue for a year. Hanwha Q Cells will supply module that are manufactured from its production facilities in Malaysia and Korea.<\/p>\n
“This supply deal will enable Hanwha Q Cells to become the market share leader among global manufacturers in two of the three world’s largest solar markets, the U.S. and Japan,\u201d said Seong-woo Nam, CEO of Hanwha Q Cells.<\/p>\n
“As the world’s largest generator of renewable energy from the wind and sun, we continue to invest in large-scale solar projects,” said Armando Pimentel, president and CEO of NextEra Energy Resources. “Hanwha Q CELLS shares our vision of an affordable clean energy future. We look forward to Hanwha Q CELLS delivering solar cells and modules that will provide reliability, efficiency and durability.”<\/p>\n
The supply agreement follows Hanwha Q Cells’ recent merger with Hanwha SolarOne Co.<\/p>\n
