Japan-based Solar Frontier has completed the acquisition of Gestamp Solar\u2019s 280-megawatt pipeline of US solar power plants.<\/p>\n

The pipeline includes 10 projects in various stages of development and located primarily in California. Construction has started for a 15-MW project located in Kern County. Construction is due to start this quarter for a 20-MW project. Solar Frontier said it is talks with a group of investors for the sale of designated solar projects.<\/p>\n

The company also named Charles Pimentel as the CEO of Solar Frontier Americas\u2019 new division, Solar Frontier Americas Development, and Cary Vandenberg has been appointed managing director of the development organization. Pimentel will continue in his role as COO of Solar Frontier Americas.<\/p>\n

Solar Frontier said the expansion of the US organization provides the platform to scale the US business and underscores Solar Frontier\u2019s commitment to the US market. The move comes as part of Solar Frontier\u2019s global expansion plans, which include strengthening the company\u2019s position as a comprehensive solar energy solutions provider in international markets.<\/p>\n
