Enel Wins Big In Mexico Again. Will Build 593 MW Wind Capacity Following Tender

Enel, acting through its renewable energy subsidiary Enel Rinnovabile has been awarded four wind projects for a total capacity of 593 MW Mexico’s third long-term public tender since its energy reform. The award follows Enel’s success in the two previous tenders, once again confirming its position as the largest renewable player in Mexico in terms of installed capacity and project portfolio. The Company has been awarded the contracts for 15-year energy supply and 20-year clean certificates. The Group will be investing around 700 million US dollars in the construction of the plants.

Vestas Wins 424 MW Project; Largest Mexican Wind Park, And Strengthens Position

Vestas has received an order for the largest wind park in Mexico. The order consists of 123 V136-3.45 MW turbines for a 424 MW project in Mexico. With this contract, Vestas’ order intake from Mexico’s energy auctions reaches almost 500 MW. Zuma Energía placed the order for the Parque Eólico Reynosa project in the northeastern state of Tamaulipas, which will be one of the largest wind power projects in Latin America. The order consists of 123 V136-3.45 MW turbines for a 424 MW project in Mexico. With this contract, Vestas’ order intake from Mexico’s energy auctions reaches almost 500 MW.

IEnova Agrees Acquisition Of Mexico’s Largest Wind Farm For $852m

IEnova has announced that it has agreed to the purchase of 100% of the equity interests in the “Ventika” wind generation facility. It is a 252 MW wind generation facility powered by 84 turbines, making it the largest wind farm in Mexico and one of the largest wind farms in Latin America. The facility is comprised of two adjacent wind farms located in the General Bravo municipality in the state of Nuevo Leon and was jointly developed by Fisterra Energy and Cemex, a global building materials company with presence in more than 50 countries. In December 2015, construction was completed and commercial operations commenced in April 2016.

Mexico: Envision and ViveEnergia Awarded PPC For 90MW Wind Farm

Envision Energy, the world’s leading smart energy solution provider, and ViveEnergia, a Mexican company developing renewable energy projects, were awarded a long-term power purchasing contract with the Mexican Federal Electricity Commission (CFE). The strategic agreement signed in 2015 between Envision and ViveEnergia represented China’s largest direct investment in Mexico in the sector.
