Chinese manufacturer Trina Solar Ltd. has won a contract to supply its modules to a 42.5-megawatt project in Honduras developed by Gestamp Solar.
The project in Marcovia in the Choluteca region, is Gestamp’s first in the country and is expected to span 180 hectares once completed. Trina will supply more than 160,000 of its high-efficiency utility-grade PC14-310W modules, and the installation will be fitted with 300 solar trackers to maximize the efficiency of the installation.
The plant, due to be completed in the second quarter of this year, will generate 93 gigawatts/hour each year and lead to CO2 savings of 43,000 tons.
