Vestas has received an order to supply its wind turbines for the 40-megawatt Khambaliya project in India’s Gujarat state.
Vestas will supply 20 sets of its 2-MW turbines for the wind farm as an extension of an existing contract with India’s Powerica Ltd., a rising power solutions provider in India. Among the 40MW for this project, 12MW constitutes an upgrade from a part of a previous order for turbines with the V100 platform, and the remaining 28MW is newly added.
The order includes the supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines, which is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2016, as well as a five-year service contract for Vestas’ premium service package. The V110-2.0 MW turbine is the latest addition to Vestas’ 2 MW-platform and is well-suited for the low-wind sites in India.
