China’s Trina Solar has inked an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh state government in India to set up a solar cell plant at Atchutapuram in Visakhapatnam district, according to Indian media reports.
The agreement was signed by Industries Secretary S S Rawat and Trina Solar Vice President Chen Shou Chung. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was also present, and said the plant will complement the state’s energy efficiency and renewable energy goals.
Trina Solar is a manufacturer of crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules and system integration, ingots and wafers.
