Con Edison Power has started commercial operations of 5.5-megawatt solar photovoltaic project in San Antonio.
The Alamo 3 plant will deliver electricity to CPS Energy under a 25-year power purchase agreement.
The project was originally developed by CPS Energy and OCI Solar Energy, but has been acquired by Con Edison Power for an undisclosed amount.
The Alamo 3 facility has 510 solar trackers, which automatically change positions to match the movements of the sun. Each tracker at the facility includes 42 modules filled with solar panels made by Mission Solar Energy at Brooks City Base as well as axis technology from Sun Action Trackers and inverters from KACO new energy.
