Intersolar North America Focuses on Solar Finance And Smart Renewable Energy

Intersolar North America, the most-attended solar industry event in North America, will feature new, in-depth conference tracks on solar finance, smart renewable energy and cutting-edge PV and energy storage technologies at its 10th annual event in San Francisco July 10 to 12. High-level conference speakers will discuss key themes, technologies and advancements in the solar and energy storage industries, as well as financial tools and legislative actions currently shaping the North American market. The Intersolar and ees North America conferences will take place at the InterContinental Hotel, and information on the full program and registration is available online.

This year, Intersolar and ees North America will offer 41 conference sessions and 20 workshops. Visitors will have a myriad of opportunities to learn about exciting industry topics including technological advancements, financing projects, smart renewable energy (SRE) and more. Drawing on the input from Intersolar and ees’ roster of conference partners, the two co-located events will feature a dynamic collection of sessions this year focused on trends currently impacting the solar industry.

Key discussion themes at the conferences include:

·       Unique Finance Tools: A new day-long Intersolar Finance Symposium, as well as sessions such as “Financing Energy Storage Projects,” “PV Plants: System Configuration,” “Energy Storage in the Golden State” and the Intersolar Asset Management Summit, this year’s event will provide more coverage of solar financing methods than previous years.

·       Emerging Technologies: At discussions like “Net Metering and Potential Future Alternatives” and “The Future of PV” panels, industry experts will dive into the latest PV and energy storage technologies pushing the boundaries of efficiency and reliability.

·       Smart Renewable Energy: With sessions such as “SRE: Digitalization/Energy Clouds/Big Data” and “Using Storage to Enable Vehicle Charging,” attendees will gain an inside look at how data and connected systems could boost solar’s reach into many aspects of daily life. The “Digitalization/Energy Clouds/Big Data” session looks towards the future, assessing the role of digitalization in an increasingly intelligent energy ecosystem.

·       Industry Opportunities and Challenges: The policy landscape is constantly changing, and several conference sessions will provide updates on current legislation. For example, the “Net Metering and the Potential Future Alternatives” panel responds to the critical role of net metering thus far in solar development and considers alternative options in the face increasingly restrictive state tariffs.

The selection of conference tracks, workshops and panels this year reflect the current challenges and opportunities facing the solar and storage industries and will discuss the strides these markets have made.

Additionally, this year’s conference also features two one-day, multi-part summits organised in collaboration with the SunSpec Alliance. The four-part Intersolar Finance Symposium will break down the economic benefits of moving to solar-plus-storage and discusses financially profitable approaches that take into account new revenue streams for grid support and upcoming regulatory shifts. The Intersolar Asset Management Summit, also featuring four sessions, will examine the evolution of asset management, and equip attendees with valuable insight into how to secure investment capital and achieve profitability.

Networking Opportunities Connect Solar and Storage Industries

In response to popular demand, Intersolar North America increased the number of off-site events and tours this year. These events give attendees the chance to see unique solar installations in action and provide valuable networking opportunities. Intersolar North America attendees can visit some of the largest and most unique microgrids and PV installations in the United States on day trips to Napa Valley and Alcatraz or register for a tour of Tesla’s Silicon Valley factory. They can also sign up for the German-American Green Business Breakfast or the Solar Summerfest, a unique networking event and party benefitting the California Solar Energy Industries Association (CALSEIA). Additional information, including event details and registration, is available online.

The current solar landscape is focused heavily on integrating solar and storage in order to increase solar power capacity. Because of this, the partnership between Intersolar North America and ees North America has never been more important. The two stand-alone events bring solar and energy storage professionals together and further advance solar-plus-storage. With the full conference pass, attendees gain access to both the Intersolar and ees conference sessions and proceedings, as well as admission to Solar Summerfest.

All Intersolar North America and ees North America attendees are invited to attend the opening ceremony and reception at 5:30pm on July 10 at the Intercontinental Hotel.
