Acciona Wins Deal to Supply Turbines to 195-MW Brazilian Wind Farm

Spanish renewable energy company Acciona has won a contract to supply wind turbines to a 195-megawatt project in Brazil developed by Atlantic Energias Renovaveis and UK private equity firm Actis.

Acciona Windpower will supply 65 sets of its 3-MW turbines for the project located in the state of Piau in the northeast of the country. The developer was awarded the project last November. Supply of the wind turbines will begin in 2017, with the project due to be completed a year later. Acciona Windpower will also operate and maintain the plant for 15 years.

Acciona said the main components of the wind turbines as well as the blades will be manufactured in Brazil.
