JA Solar Holdings has signed a preliminary agreement with India’s Essel Infraprojects Ltd to jointly set up a solar cell and module manufacturing facility in India.
The two companies are planning a plant with 500 megawatts of production capacity. The agreement was signed at the India-China Business Forum held in Shanghai, where Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese national leaders, and commercial and industrial representatives of both countries were in attendance, including JA Solar and Essel Infraprojects.
