Wind project developer Pattern Energy Group Inc. has inked a 25-yer power-purchase agreement with Hydro-Quebec for its 147-megawatt Mont Sainte-Marguerite project located south of Quebec City in the Chaudiere-Appalaches region.
Pattern Development, an affiliate, expects to begin construction of the project in the third quarter of 2016, with commercial operations due to begin in December 2017. Pattern Development currently owns the project and it is anticipated that Pattern Energy will acquire the full owned interest in the project. The addition of the Mont Sainte-Marguerite Wind project increases Pattern Energy’s total owned wind capacity to 977 MW.
Pattern Development has a 3,500-MW pipeline of development projects, all of which are subject to Pattern Energy’s right of first offer.
