Jordan-based module maker and project developer Philadelphia Solar has signed an agreement to develop a 50-megawatt solar project in Egypt.
The agreement was signed with the Egypt New and Renewable Energy Authority for land in Binban in the south of the country to be allocated for the project. A 25-year power-purchase agreement at the rate of US14.3 cents per kilowatt-hour is also expected to be signed.
Philadelphia Solar is the only solar module manufacturer in Jordan, and also provides engineering, procurement, project management and construction services for photovoltaic projects.
