ReNew Power to Partner Hareon for Indian Solar Project

India’s ReNew Power has signed an agreement with China’s Hareon Solar Technology Co. to develop a 72-megawatt solar-power project in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

This is the first time that Hareon Solar is investing into a solar PV project in India. The Chinese company will supply and install its crystalline silicon solar PV modules for the project, which is being developed in Kurnool district. The delivery, totaling 234,161 PV modules, will begin in August 2015 and is scheduled to be completed by December 2015.

The generated solar power will be sold under a 25-year power purchase agreement to the Southern Power Distribution Co. of Andhra Pradesh Ltd. The project is expected to start operating in March 2016.
