Siemens Bags Turbine Supply Contract for 200-MW Texas Wind Project

Siemens has been awarded a contract from Pattern Energy Group to supply and install turbines for the 200-megawatt Logan’s Gap Wind project located in Comanche County, Texas.

Siemens will supply 87 sets of its 2.3MW turbines. Installation of the turbines is scheduled to begin this year, with project due to start operating in the fall of 2015. A service and maintenance agreement was also signed.

The project is the 12th between Siemens and Pattern Development in South and North America. The nacelles for the project will be assembled at the Siemens facility in Hutchinson, Kansas. The blades will be manufactured at the Siemens blade facility in Fort Madison, Iowa.
