Siemens has been contracted by Brazil’s electricity distributor AES Eletropaulo to supply its EnergyIP platform for meter data management system.
Last November, AES Eletropaulo ordered 62,000 Siemens smart meters as part of the electricity distributor’s smart grid programme.
According to media reports, the meter data infrastructure will allow Barueri cCty, a municipality within the metropolitan area of Sao Paulo to manage its electricity consumption in real time through AES Eletropaulo’s trading system, to avoid peak-time hours.
