Siemens Wins Wind Turbines Order for 38.4-MW Project in France

Siemens has been awarded an order for the delivery, installation, and commissioning of 12 direct-drive wind turbines for Les Gourlous wind farm in France, developed by Austrian W.E.B. Windenergie.

The SWT-3.2-113 turbines will have a total capacity of 38.4 megawatts and will supply about 35,000 households with clean energy. Siemens will be providing long-term service for the new wind farm in the Champagne-Ardennes region in France, with a 20-year service and maintenance agreement. The new project is scheduled for commissioning in November 2016.

The company will collaborate with local suppliers for the construction work on site. Austrian W.E.B. Windenergie operates wind farms in Europe and North America.
