Trina Solar Secures 48-MW Module Contract from India’s ACME

Chinese module maker Trina Solar Ltd. has secured a contract to supply 48 megawatts of modules to two solar projects developed by India’s ACME Cleantech Solutions Ltd.

Under the agreement, approximately 188,000 pieces of Trina’s TSM-PC05A modules will be installed on the two ground-mounted solar plants. The installations are expected to provide an annual output of 81.6 gigawatt hours. The shipment will be completed in the first quarter of 2015.

This new agreement brings Trina’s total sales of solar modules to ACME to 70MW in 2015.

“We are seeing a significant pick up in the adoption of solar power in India this year and we are delighted to be taking part in the growth with our efficient and high-quality modules,” said Zhiguo Zhu, COO and President of Trina’s module business unit. “India is no doubt a robust and growing emerging market for solar energy. We believe this agreement not only demonstrates our growing brand awareness in India, but also sets a solid foundation for our expanding business in the region in 2015. We look forward to capturing more market opportunities in India with ACME.”
