Vestas Wind Systems has won an order from Sempra U.S. Gas & Power to supply the 78-megawatt Black Oak Getty wind farm in Stearns County, Minnesota.
Vesats will supply and commission 39 sets of its 2-MW turbines for the plant. Once completed, the Black Oak Getty wind farm will generate enough renewable energy to power approximately 30,000 Minnesota homes. The entire power output from the wind farm will be sold to Minnesota Municipal Power Agency under a 20-year contract.
Turbine delivery is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2016.
