China’s JA Solar Holdings has signed an agreement to supply 35.1 megawatts of modules to the second phase of a Guatemala solar farm.
The company did not name the developer. The signing of the contract for the project follows JA Solar’s delivery of 59.7MW to the first phase in 2014. As the largest solar farm in Central America and the second largest in the Latin American region, the Guatemala project requires modules of high reliability, high conversion efficiency and high power output.
JA Solar last week announced that it shipped 3.1 gigawatts of shipments in 2014, of which 2.4GW were solar modules. Its revenue in 2014 hit US$1.8 billion, compared with US1.2 billion a year earlier. The company turned a US$14.7 million loss in 2013 into a US$107 million profit in 2014.
