Hidroelectrica Nuble, a subsidiary of Chilean utility company Electrica Puntilla, has placed an order with Andritz Hydro to supply the electro- and hydromechanical equipment for a 136-megawatt hydroelectric project.
The contract is valued at EUR 50 million (US$57.3 million). Commissioning of the plant is scheduled for the first half of 2017. Andritz will supply two Francis turbines and generators, the balance of plant, control and protection equipment, as well as the intake and diversion gates.
The run-of-river hydropower station is located on the Nuble River near the town of San Fabian in the Bio-Bio Region.
