China’s wind power capacity is expected to reach 120 gigawatts, based on projections by the National Energy Administration, according to state media reports.
The country’s wind power capacity hit 105GW in June, according to Zhu Ming, deputy director of the NEA’s new and renewable energy department. China has a goal of achieving a clean energy target of 15% by 2020.
Research and consulting firm GlobalData recently forecast a tripling of China’s wind power capacity to 347.2GW by 2025.
