Acciona Windpower has won an order to supply 43 sets of its 3-megawatt turbines to a 129-MW wind project in Mexico.
Details of the developer were not disclosed. Acciona said it will supply turbines that have a rotor diameter 125 meters to optimize the capture of energy on sites with medium-speed winds. The turbines will be mounted on steel towers.
Acciona has now sold 988.5MW of turbines in Mexico, of which 38% are 3-MW models.
