Vestas has received an order to supply turbines to the 19.8-megawatt Coonooer Bridge wind farm in Victoria, Australia.
Vestas will supply and install six sets of its 3.3-MW turbines for the projects that is jointly developed by Eurus Energy, Windlab Ltd, and local community shareholders. The order includes a full engineering, procurement and construction contract as well as a long term service agreement.
The wind farm is scheduled for completion in March 2016 and once operational will produce enough energy to power 14,000 homes. During the construction phase, the project will employ more than 70 people, greatly benefiting the local community.
Windlab recently closed financing for theA$50 million (US$40 million) project. Under the terms of the investment agreement, Eurus will provide a majority of project equity and will own approximately 80% of the wind farm.
