Carnegie Completes Perth Wave Energy Project

Australian wave energy developer Carnegie Wave Energy Ltd.  (ASX: CWE) has completed its onshore wave energy power plant at Perth.

The plant is ready for connection to the electricity grid at HMAS Stirling pending approval from state utility Western Power. The project will sell both power and freshwater to the Australian Department of Defence to supply Australia’s largest naval base, HMAS Stirling, located on Garden Island. The first CETO unit was installed off Garden Island in late 2014.

Carnegie received a A$54,444 (US$50,000) milestone payment from the Western Australian state government for the project. This payment was awarded for the completion of the onshore plant on Garden Island.

Carnegie has also submitted a milestone payment claim worth A$316,785 for the completion of this milestone to the Australian government under its grant from the federal government under its Australian Renewable Australian Renewable Energy Agency Emerging Renewables Program.
