Principal Solar to Develop 78.5-MW Solar Plant in Rocky Mountains

Project developer Principal Solar Inc. is setting up a 78.5-megawatt solar farm at the Rocky Mountains region in the U.S.

The project, which will cost US$173 million, will sell its power to Duke Energy Progress under a 15-year power-purchase agreement. Principal Solar acquired the right to develop the project from Innovative Solar Systems under a deal that will close by 3 June 2015. Construction is expected to be completed in early 2016.
