Vestas Wins 106-MW Turbine Order for Brazilian Projects

Turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems has won an order to install 106 megawatts of turbines at five wind farms located in Brazil.

The 53 sets of 2-MW turbines will be installed at the Cabeço Preto III, V and VI and Macambira I and II wind farms. The total capacity at the Cabeço Preto will be 70MW and for Macambira, 36MW. The projects are developed by Gestamp Eolica, a subsidiary of Spanish developer Gestamp Wind.

Turbine delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2016, with commissioning due to start in the second quarter 2016 for Cabeço Preto and the third quarter 2016 for Macambira.

The projects be able provide electricity to approximately 200,000 people in Brazil.
