The Australian Capital Territories has selected three developers to set up projects under a 200-megawatt wind auction.
Ararat Wind Farm Pty. was selected for a 80.5-MW proposal to be located north-west of Ballarat, Victoria. The project is being developed by RES Australia Pty., a subsidiary of RES UK, a global renewable energy company.
Coonooer Bridge Wind Farm Pty.’s 19.4-MW proposal to be located north-west of Bendigo, Victoria was also selected. The project is being developed by Windlab Ltd., a Canberra-based renewable energy company.
Hornsdale Wind Farm Pty’s was selected for a 100-MW proposal to be located south-east of Port Augusta, South Australia. The project is being developed by Neoen, a French-based renewable energy company.
Teh projects are expected to start operating in 2017.
