Northland Power Inc. has sold its entire 66.7% stake in the 24-megawatt Frampton wind project in Quebec, Canada, to Boralex Inc.
Northland was paid US$11.5 million for the sale of the stake. The remaining 33.3% stake of the project that is in advanced stage development is owned by the municipality of Frampton.
Northland said it will use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, and to fund a portion of its investments in other wind projects. Northland currently owns and operates two wind farms in Quebec totalling 228MW.
