Lloyds Banking Group has signed an agreement to buy clean energy from a portfolio of landfill gas sites owned by project developer Infinis.
Lloyds Banking Group will purchase around 113,800 megawatt hours per year of renewable power from Infinis – enough to power approximately 1,700 branches in Lloyds Banking Group – for the next 10 years. That amount will displace CO2e1 emissions of around 56,000 tonnes from the National Grid.
The power-purchase agreement follows similar transactions already in place with Marks & Spencer to supply the retailer with renewable power from Infinis’ onshore wind farms.
