Fuji Electric to Supply Turbines to 45-MW Geothermal Plant in Iceland

Japan’s Fuji Electric Co. and Germany’s Balcke-Durr GmbH have been awarded a contract to supply turbines to the 45-megawatt Peistareykir Geothermal project in Iceland.

The contract was awarded by the National Power Co. of Iceland (Landsvirkjun) to the consortium. Fuji Electric will design, manufacture and supply the steam turbine and generator, which will be installed and commissioned on site in Iceland and delivered to Landsvirkjun.

The project is expected to start operating in October 2017.
