JinkoSolar to Provide Panels for Solar Project in Arizona

JinkoSolar Holding Co. has won a contract to supply 75 megawatts of photovoltaic panels for the Red Horse 2 project in Cochise, Arizona.

The project that is being developed by D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments will utilize 248,750 of JinkoSolar’s high-efficient 72-cell polycrystalline solar panels. Swinerton Renewable Energy is designing and constructing the project.

The hybrid wind and solar project will sell electricity to Tucson Electric Power. “This adds to our growing list of projects in the United States,” said Nigel Cockroft, General Manager of JinkoSolar (US) Inc. “We delivered over 400 MW of modules to US projects in 2014, and in 2015 have so far signed U.S. contracts to supply an additional 750MW. The US has become the second largest market for JinkoSolar after China.”

JinkoSolar announced separately that it has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with DuPont to develop the growth and adoption of efficient and reliable solar generated electricity. Areas of potential collaboration include technical development efforts to support continued improvements in the efficiency, durability and reliability of solar cells and panels, including through development and supply of advanced materials.
