Aria Energy’s 4.3-MW Landfill GTE Plants Starts Operating

Aria Energy has started commercial operation of a 4.8-megawatt landfill gas-to-energy announced at Sarasota County’s Central County Solid Waste Disposal Complex located in Nokomis, Florida.

The plant produces renewable energy by capturing and processing the methane gas generated at the landfill through organic decomposition. Aria Energy constructed the plant and will also operate it.  The power is sold to Florida utility JEA.

The project is the second facility owned by Aria Energy that is selling power to JEA. Aria Energy has 32MW of operating landfill gas-to-energy in Florida
