Chinese solar products maker Trina Solar has won a contract to supply 6.9 megawatts of PV modules to Anesco’s ground-mounted solar farm in P en Y Cae, near Powys, South Wales.
The project was commissioned in March 2015 and is supplying electricity to the grid. The installation uses Trina’s Trinasmart technology, which includes power optimisation to increase system performance by up to 20% together with monitoring built into the module junction box.
Trinasmart allows monitoring and control of the PV array at the module level rather than at inverter level. A web-based platform means that system performance can also be monitored and controlled in real time with a smart mobile device or PC.
