China’s Trina Solar Ltd. has signed an agreement to supply modules to a 231-megawatt solar-power project in Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture in Japan.
Trina will supply 116MW of high efficiency modules to the project, the largest solar farm in Japan that is being developed by Toyo Engineering.
The project is managed by Setouchi Future Creations LLC. And will utilize 446,000 pieces of Trina’s modules. Toyo Engineering will build the plant on 260 hectares of city land on the former Kinkai salt field.
The project is due to start operating in the second quarter of 2019.
