Wind turbine manufacturer Senvion SE has signed four contracts with developer Blue Energy to supply turbines totalling 45 megawatts for UK-based projects.
The turbines are for the Grange project in North Lincolnshire, the Kelmarsh and Winwick wind farms near Northampton and the Chiplow project in Norfolk.
The Grange project near Scunthorpe will consist of six sets of Senvion’s MM92 turbines with a total rated output of 12.3MW. Deliveries are due to be delivered in the autumn 2015 and completed in the first quarter of 2016.
The Kelmarsh willalso consist of six units of MM92 turbines, four at 78 metre hub height and the remaining two at 69 metre hub height, enabling the wind farm to take full advantage of variable wind speeds. Turbines will be delivered to site in autumn 2015 and the project is due for completion in spring 2016. Senvion will also look after maintenance of the wind farm for 20 years.
The Winwick project will also consist of six MM92 turbines. Construction is due to start in autumn 2015 with project handover completed in spring 2016. The Chiplow plant is located in Norfolk and will consist of four MM82 turbines with a total rated output of 8.2MW. Installation will begin in autumn 2015 and is due for completion in spring 2016.
