Gamesa to Construct Two Wind Projects in India

Gamesa has won agreements to construct two wind power projects in India with a combined capacity of 158 megawatts.

The company said the turnkey agreements were signed in March 2015 for a 50-MW and 108-MW projects. Details of the developers were not disclosed, but Gamesa said the wind farms are located in the states of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

They will be equipped with a total of 79 sets of its 2-MW turbines. Gamesa said it will manage  all of the infrastructure needed to install and operate both projects, which are slated for commissioning in July 2015 and February 2016, and will maintain the two facilities under long-term service contracts.

Gamesa also said it has signed orders from several customers for the supply of another 18 sets of its 2-MW turbines at four wind farms located in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The agreements also encompass the provision of the related operation and maintenance services over the medium and long term.
