India’s Suzlon Group has won an order to supply its wind turbines to Mytrah Energy’s 98-megawatt project in Telangana state.
The project at Nazeerabad in Ranga Reddy, is scheduled for commissioning in 2016. Suzlon will install and commission 47 sets of its 2.1-MW hybrid tower wind turbine generators.
The order is part of an agreement signed in 2010 for Mytrah in May 2010 to purchase 1 gigawatt of turbines from Suzlon Group. The project is the 3rd repeat order awarded by Mytrah to Suzlon Energy.
Suzlon has already commissioned a 310-MW wind energy project for Mytrah, with 205MW is under execution in Rajasthan, Maharashtra & Andhra Pradesh.
Suzlon’s S97 120m is the world’s tallest hybrid tower designed to harness the wind energy across low wind sites. It is a combination of lattice and tubular structure which ensures higher yield and increased power output of 12-14% over at 90 meter tower.
