Orix Forms JV to Develop 100-MW Offshore Wind Farm in Japan

Japan’s Orix Corp. is joining two other companies to develop a 100-megawatt wind-power project off the coast of Ibaraki prefecture, northeast of Tokyo.

Orix and its partners, Wind Power Group K.K. a unit of the Komatsuzaki Group, and SoftBank subsidiary SB Energy Corp. will each hold a 33% stake in the joint venture project. The wind farm will consist of 20 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 5MW.

The project will be the largest commercial offshore wind farm business in both Asia and Japan.
