Vestas has won an order from wpd to supply wind turbines to the 73-megawatt Tohkoja project in Kalajoki, Finland.
The Tohkoja project order comprises 22 sets of V117-3.3-MW turbines, equipped with the Vestas De-icing System. Delivery of the turbines is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2016, with commissioning expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2016.
Tohkoja wind power plant is wpd’s third wind project in Finland.
“We have already cooperated well with Vestas on many projects, and we look forward to a successful implementation of the Tohkoja wind farm as well”, says Lars Muller, Head of Turbine Procurement, at wpd.
The project was previously owned by Fortum, which sold it to wpd in 2014. The sale of the wind power projects was part of Fortum’s efficiency programme launched in October 2012.
