NextEnergy Solar Fund will pay £22.1 million (US$33 million) to acquire three solar projects, including a portfolio of rooftop installations.
The agreements were signed with unrelated parties. NESF acquired 11.5-megawatt solar park in Dorset which started operating in March and receives 1.4 Renewable Energy Certificates. It also purchased a 5-MW solar farm in Essex which was connected in June.
The Thurlestone portfolio comprises some 700 rooftops in Leicestershire which were connected between November 2012 and June 2013. Thurlestone is NESF’s first acquisition of a rooftop portfolio and the company said it expects to expand in this market segment.
