SunPower Corp. has inked a deal wot develop three solar projects in China for Apple Inc. with a capacity of 170 megawatts.
The projects will be located in the Inner Mongolia region, and are due to start operating in 2016. SunPower, Tianjin Zhonghuan Semiconductor Co. and another partner will own the three plants. SunPower Chief Executive Officer Tom Werner had previously said that Apple would take an equity stake in the new projects, and could be the third investor.
