Building Energy has started construction of a 30-megawatt wind power project in Iowa.
The US$55 million project located north of Des Moines is due to be completed by the end of 2016. It will comprise 10 sets of 3-MW turbines supplied by Acciona, which will also provide operations and maintenance services.
The Iowa project will be Building Energy’s first wind farm in the United States. Power will be sold to Alliant Energy.
