Voltalia has won the right to develop two solar projects with a total capacity of 14.3 megawatts in a tender issued by the French Energy Regulatory Commission.
The projects are the 10.5-MW Canadel farm in Brignoles and the 3.8-MW Castellet II project in the Castellet municipality. The photovoltaic panels of both projects will be equipped with a sun-tracking system in order to optimize electricity production throughout the day, Voltalia said.
The projects, due to start operating in 2017, will generate enough electricity for the needs of 11,000 French households.
