INTERSOLAR SUMMIT USA East Returning To Brooklyn, New York On March 23, 2017

The development of the solar and energy storage industry at the U.S. East Coast was very dynamic over the past years. Government approvals and incentive schemes were stimulating continuous industry growth. As a result, almost half of the U.S. solar companies, i.e. approx. 3,000, are located on the East Coast. A total of 15,000 solar jobs are in Massachusetts which therefore ranks second in U.S. solar employment statistics, followed by New York and New Jersey in fourth and fifth place respectively.

The outlooks before the last U.S. election were very promising. The State of New York, for example, pushed forward the energy transition by mandating 50% of renewable energy by 2030. In September 2016 New York City set its new target for solar capacity to 1 GW of solar PV by 2030 and its first energy storage deployment target to 100 MWh by 2020. What impact will a new Trump administration have on the east coast solar and energy storage industries? How will the role of the eastern states change with regard to important policy and finance issues in this new business climate? What contingencies should industry prepare to cope with this ever-changing market?

A perfect place to discuss the latest developments is the Intersolar Summit USA East, returning to Brooklyn NY for the fifth time on March 23, 2017 – two months after Trump took office. Solar and energy storage experts will analyse the industry’s future roadmap and provides comprehensive insight on latest policy developments impacting the eastern U.S. regional markets. Besides that, there will be a focus on new emerging solar financing structures as well as the latest market trends and technological advancements in the residential, commercial and industrial energy storage market.

Officially supported by the New York State Senate represented by New York State Senator Kevin S. Parker, as well as numerous state-level solar associations it offers great business matchmaking opportunities with regional market intermediaries and leading suppliers.
