A significant proportion of global energy use, is in transportation. Data from the German Environment Agency (UBA) reveals that over 90 percent of fuel deployed is derived from mineral oil. Tata Power Solar Commissions India’s First Rooftop Solar Carport In Delhi

Tata Power Solar set another landmark by commissioning an unprecedented rooftop solar project in India – a solar carport on the rooftop of the sprawling 70,000 sq.m Unity One mall, in Rohini, Delhi. The unique rooftop carport is estimated to set off 438 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. The company won the bid in an open tender process fielded by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for multi-level car parking. The project enables the mall to earn on the unused and excess solar electricity produced. It also cuts down the need to install a second meter or an expensive battery storage system as it is directly connected to the local power grid.

Siemens Gamesa Strengthens Lead In India With New Order For 200 MW Wind Farm

Enel Wins Big In Mexico Again. Will Build 593 MW Wind Capacity Following Tender

Enel, acting through its renewable energy subsidiary Enel Rinnovabile has been awarded four wind projects for a total capacity of 593 MW Mexico’s third long-term public tender since its energy reform. The award follows Enel’s success in the two previous tenders, once again confirming its position as the largest renewable player in Mexico in terms of installed capacity and project portfolio. The Company has been awarded the contracts for 15-year energy supply and 20-year clean certificates. The Group will be investing around 700 million US dollars in the construction of the plants.

African Rise: VINCI Energies Wins Contract To Build 8 PV Power Plants In Senegal

VINCI Energies has won a project that could be at the spearhead of many other similar projects for EU, Chinese and US firms. A €26.8m contract for 8 pv power plants with a combined capacity of 17 MW, to be built over a period of only 10 months. Strategically the project will diversify Senegal’s energy mix and electrify the country’s isolated regions. The power plants will use 62,850 panels overall and produce the annual energy consumption for 140,000 people. The project represents a €26.8 million investment, financed by the German bank KFW and Senelec.

EV Infrastructure: Iceland Leads The Way, With Fast Chargers On Main Highway

ON Power, a part of Reykjavik Energy, has signed a contract with ABB for the delivery and installation of 15 Terra multi-standard DC chargers type 53 CJG at various points along Iceland’s main highway. Today there are over 1,400 electric vehicles on the road in Iceland due to a state-financed incentive program, which supports the purchase of electric vehicles. The tender for fast chargers is part of the country’s campaign to promote and expand Iceland’s e-mobility strategy by increasing the availability of flexible and robust charging stations along central locations of the national highway across the entire country.

Amazon Launches Biggest Wind Farm Yet, Generating Over 1,000,000 MWh Each Year

Amazon has announced that its largest wind farm yet—Amazon Wind Farm Texas—is now up and running, adding more than 1,000,000 MWh of clean energy to the grid each year. In total, Amazon has launched 18 wind and solar projects across the US, with over 35 more to come. Together, they will generate enough clean energy to power over 330,000 homes annually. The Farm includes more than 100 turbines – each over 300 feet tall with a rotor diameter more than twice the wingspan of a Boeing 787. It is built, owned, and operated by Lincoln Clean Energy (LCE).
