Swedish state-owned developer Vattenfall Wind Power has been granted a concession to set up the 400-megawatt Horns Rev 3 offshore project in Denmark after a competitive bidding process.
The wind farm, which is expected to start operating in 2017, requires approval from the Danish government and the European Union.
Vattenfall owns approximately 1,800 MW of wind capacity, of which 1,000 MW is offshore.
